American Girl Place

This will be one of mine and Sara Katherine's standout memories, in my memory anyway. We had SO much fun. David and Elyse and Ethan headed over to the Harry Potter Exhibition in Times Square and Elyse and I hopped on the subway to 5th Avenue for lunch at American Girl Place. Then I let her pick out her first, and possibly her only (!) American Girl doll. (Those things ain't cheap!) She picked Caroline with blue eyes and blond hair "just like her." Such a fun afternoon with my girl.

The food was so cute, and actually really good. The first course was appetizers, all mini things. Mini carrots, mini chicken salad bites, mini cinnamon rolls, all cute mini stuff.

We had not "adopted" Caroline yet so they let you choose a doll to eat with you for lunch. Sara Katherinew was very excited about this.

They tied the napkins with American girl hair bands we got to keep and every table had a box with these little cards with get-to-know you questions you could read to each other while you waited for your food. Sara K had some hilarious answers.

For the main course, Sara Katherine chose a mini hot dog and a mini hamburger.

And for dessert, a mini dirt pudding in a cute little cup and they got to keep the flower and a mini flower shaped cake a mini fruit kabob. All the mini food was too cute.

They even had a hair salon for the dolls. No, I am not kidding. And there was a LINE.

Here she is with the doll she chose, Caroline. Fun memories!
